Russell Pippin is a California-based clinician who brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to his work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has provided services in diverse settings, including private practice, a county behavioral health agency, and as a clinical supervisor for an agency that delivers mental health services to school systems.
His faith in God, which has deepened over the past 50 years, shaped his sense of calling to empower and heal others and to help people discover what is best in their lives. That conviction informs his approach to creating an authentic, compassionate therapeutic environment where he and the client can work together toward meaningful goals.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from Simpson Bible College in San Francisco in 1982 and a master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from Fresno State University in 1994. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (license CA LMFT 40133).
His clinical specialties include stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, depression, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief, career difficulties, and coping with life changes. He is EMDR level II trained since 2007 and holds Imago therapy certification. Russell employs client-centered methods alongside cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR therapy, solution-focused strategies, and Imago couples therapy to tailor treatment to each person’s needs.
Russell provides therapy in English and welcomes contact from those seeking support. He aims to offer a safe, respectful space where clients can pursue healing and growth and is available to discuss whether his approach is a good fit.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person treatment.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose how they connect, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging, making it easier to fit care into a busy schedule. Licensed professionals deliver services remotely, and clients have the option to change therapists if they seek a different fit.
Overall, online therapy offers an accessible way to work on everyday mental health and relationship concerns while maintaining the range of communication styles that may best support each individual’s needs.
