Ron Smith is an ordained minister who holds two master’s degrees: one in counseling and one in ministry. He has provided mental health counseling since 1988 and brings 30 years of experience to his work in Indiana. He is a licensed mental health counselor in Indiana.
Ron specializes in treating people who struggle with sexual acting-out behaviors, sex addiction, chemical dependency, and anger outbursts. He has presented at national conferences and led numerous workshops focused on effective treatment and intervention for adults with sexual maladaptive behaviors. He also designed and wrote residential and outpatient treatment programs addressing sexual maladaptive behaviors and batterers intervention.
In addition to these specialty areas, Ron provides counseling aimed at spiritual development and the enhancement of intimate relationships. His therapeutic approach is warm, interactive, open-minded, and nonjudgmental. He treats clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion while challenging and empowering them to address their treatment needs.
Ron’s clinical work draws on evidence-based methods, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational-Emotive Therapy (RET), and he includes biblical references when appropriate to the client’s goals and values.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - you can meet with a therapist in the way that feels most convenient, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and maintain regular care.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a different approach or therapist would be a better fit, it is possible to switch. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, effective option for addressing everyday mental health and life concerns.
