Rochelle Fried brings more than 40 years of psychotherapy experience to her practice in California. Over her career she has worked with people of all ages facing a wide range of life challenges, helping them build practical skills for problem solving, resilience, and daily functioning.
Her clinical work spans common concerns such as stress, anxiety, and depression as well as more severe psychological disorders. Rochelle specializes in relationship issues, couples therapy, and family therapy, attending to the complex dynamics that shape interpersonal life.
Her professional background includes supporting families in the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit and serving in custody mediation within the family court system. Rochelle spent 14 years at the Jonathan Jaques Children’s Cancer Center, where she began as a therapist and later served as assistant director of the Psychosocial and Behavioral Science program. In that role she worked directly with patients and families and supervised an ad hoc team of psychosocial professionals who provided therapeutic and support services.
While at the cancer center she maintained a part-time private practice working with adults, couples, and families, and in 1995 she transitioned to full-time private practice. Rochelle remains committed to helping clients reach their therapeutic goals and improve quality of life.
She is a California-licensed clinical social worker, a credential that reflects her training and clinical authority (CA LCSW 12445). Rochelle’s approach is client-centered and collaborative, offering an empathetic space where individuals can feel heard and supported as they work toward growth and healing. She welcomes inquiries from those ready to begin or continue their therapeutic journey.
For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes - online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience indicate that remote treatment works well for these issues.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility. People can choose the communication method that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access support from different locations.
Therapists providing online care are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch providers if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. This adaptability, combined with evidence supporting comparable outcomes for common concerns, makes online therapy a practical option for many seeking support.
