Robin Monk is a licensed mental health counselor based in Florida with 16 years of clinical experience. She has practiced in Florida since 2009 and expanded her professional licensure to California in 2024, holding credentials to provide clinical counseling in both states.
Her earlier work included several years providing individual therapy at a community behavioral health center before transitioning to an online counseling role. She also spent five years working as an in-home parent educator for the University of Florida’s Nurturing Program.
Robin specializes in helping people manage stress and anxiety, cope with grief and life changes, build self-esteem, and address challenges related to ADHD. Her approach is strength-based and client-centered, drawing primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy while incorporating other evidence-informed techniques when appropriate.
She is committed to treating everyone with compassion and respect regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, and takes particular satisfaction in helping individuals uncover strengths they did not realize they had. People often seek counseling when they feel down, worried, frustrated, stuck, or hopeless because previous attempts to improve the situation have not worked - talking through difficulties can provide new perspective and open a path forward. If someone is ready to make changes and wants support in moving forward, Robin would welcome the opportunity to work together.
Services offered include messaging, live chat, phone, and video sessions.
Many people ask whether virtual counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
An important advantage is practicality and flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to schedule care around work, family, and other commitments.
Therapists who provide online care are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch therapists at any time if they are seeking a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, effective option for getting support when facing common mental health and life challenges.
