Melissa Guarnaccia is a psychotherapist based in North Carolina who brings eleven years of clinical experience to her work. She is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, and blends a relaxed, open-minded, and non-judgmental approach with a practical, action-oriented focus to help clients move toward their goals.
Her clinical background spans work with children, adolescents, and adults across hospital, school, and private practice settings. Melissa addresses a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, family conflict, self-esteem, depression, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, eating disorders, anger management, career difficulties, and bipolar disorder. She also enjoys supporting parents and offers community workshops as a certified instructor in Parenting with Love & Logic.
Melissa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She holds clinical social work licensure in both South Carolina and North Carolina, and applies her training and experience to create a supportive environment for growth.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Melissa is married and a mother to two boys, and she shares her home with a pug named Mabel. Outside of work she and her family spend much of their time outdoors exploring, and she enjoys traveling and immersing herself in other cultures.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been demonstrated to be as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions.
A major advantage of remote therapy is its flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that feels most comfortable—via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging—making it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and individuals may choose to switch therapists at any time if they are seeking a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible and practical option to address a range of everyday mental health concerns.
