Mary Baez

Mary Baez is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California with 16 years of experience in the mental health field. Her years working across a variety of care settings have contributed to a broad understanding of human behavior and clinical practice.

She approaches therapy from a person-centered perspective that emphasizes listening without judgment and offering unconditional positive regard. Building a trusting therapist-client relationship at the start of therapy is a primary focus, as she believes that feeling heard and understood enables meaningful sharing and growth. Her interventions are eclectic and tailored to each person’s unique needs, informed by a holistic, strength-based philosophy that encourages self-discovery and living a life aligned with one’s values.

In addition to direct clinical work, Mary serves as a clinical supervisor for emerging therapists, continuing to learn from the people she supports while guiding new clinicians. Her clinical approaches include trauma-focused therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy, applied to concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, addictions, family conflicts, grief, intimacy issues, anger management, self-esteem, bipolar disorder, ADHD, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue.
