Marsha (Marcie) Eriksen Hanna welcomes people who are ready to seek support and values the courage it takes to reach out. She centers therapy on clients' existing strengths and combines a Strengths-Based approach with Solution-Focused techniques and Cognitive Behavioral methods to help people move toward greater well-being and life satisfaction.
As a licensed clinical social worker in California with 21 years of practice, Marsha brings long-standing experience working with adults and families on concerns such as grief and loss, self-esteem and motivation, career difficulties, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, stress and anxiety, relationship and family conflicts, intimacy-related challenges, parenting questions, and depression. She earned her Master of Social Work from San Diego State University and completed an Intergenerational Specialist certificate program at the University of Pittsburgh’s graduate school of social work.
Marsha’s counseling style is warm, compassionate, genuine, direct, and respectful. She aims to create a safe, non-judgmental, encouraging space and listens with empathy and active attention. Together with each client she applies proven strategies tailored to the individual’s needs and life path to support clear goals and practical progress.
She looks forward to collaborating with clients who want to strengthen resilience, clarify priorities, and pursue meaningful change.
Many people wonder whether virtual counseling can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as in-person sessions.
One key benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the format that works best for them, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to maintain consistency and fit therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists at any time if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many people, online therapy provides a practical and effective way to work toward their goals with professional support.
