Lorena Borella-Clements works from the belief that people have an innate capacity to heal from emotional pain and that courage is required to begin that process. She offers an eclectic approach to psychotherapy that is tailored to each person’s emotional, physical, and spiritual needs, meeting clients where they are in their healing journey.
She has substantial experience helping people reduce and manage symptoms related to stress, anxiety, lingering effects of trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, intimacy-related issues, and depression. In session she creates a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where thoughts, feelings, and experiences can be explored and made more manageable through practical coping skills and techniques to support emotional well-being.
Lorena provides therapeutic support and empowerment throughout the healing process, drawing on 16 years of clinical practice. She is licensed to practice as a marriage and family therapist in both California and Oregon and is based in Oregon.
As a multicultural clinician who was born in Argentina and immigrated to the United States at age six, Lorena grew up in the Bay Area of California and brings that background to her work. She offers psychotherapy in both English and Spanish. Her academic training includes a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Sofia University in Palo Alto, California.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility: clients can choose the communication method that fits their life and comfort level, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
All therapists providing these services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they would prefer a different fit. For many people seeking support with everyday mental health concerns, online therapy offers an accessible and effective way to receive care.
