Lisa Guy offers a warm, supportive and non-judgemental therapeutic environment where people can explore their thoughts, feelings and emotions to gain greater clarity about their life experience and move toward a more fulfilling life.
She recognises that life events and changes can be hard to make sense of, and aims to provide a trustworthy and confidential space for clients to begin self-exploration and change while developing a sense of value and self-worth that supports growth.
Working integratively, Lisa draws on person-centred, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches and tailors these models to each person’s unique needs, allowing clients to work through issues at a pace that feels right for them.
Before training in counselling, Lisa spent 19 years working in IT and earlier roles in retail and market research, which gave her insight into workplace challenges and how professional life can affect personal wellbeing. She has a particular interest in depression and anxiety, stress, workplace and communication issues, self-esteem and confidence, and family and relationship concerns, and has experience providing a safe and supportive space to explore these areas.
Her interest in the benefits of therapy grew from personal learning alongside mentoring roles in IT and volunteering at Norwood and Brixton Foodbank. Lisa is an integrative counsellor with a CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with a goal of working towards accreditation. She has 3 years of experience and practices in the United Kingdom.
Many people ask whether online therapy can genuinely help. For everyday concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or managing life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional face-to-face sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can meet with a therapist in the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All sessions are delivered by licensed professionals, and if someone feels they would prefer a different therapist they can change at any time. Online therapy provides accessible options to receive professional support for common mental health and wellbeing concerns.
