Rev. Larry Payne brings more than 40 years of experience in the helping professions, including 15 years working as a licensed counselor. He offers a therapeutic space for personal exploration, insight, and practical change to help people navigate difficult seasons and move toward healthier adjustment.
He works at each person’s pace to address the concerns they bring and to promote an improved quality of life. Over his career he has supported many people coping with grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, troubled relationships, and spiritual distress.
Rev. Payne commonly uses Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to address both thinking patterns and behaviors, helping clients develop new perspectives, confront actions that interfere with adjustment, and learn skills that support their goals. When appropriate, he may also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma.
Spirituality is often an important part of the healing process. He honors each client’s individual spiritual viewpoint and brings a progressive faith informed by a belief in the love, goodness, and redeeming power of God. Seeking help takes courage, and he hopes people will take a step forward to discover a new path toward a better life with his guidance.
He is a state-licensed professional counselor in Texas with significant clinical experience, and he aims to combine compassion and practical insight to address a wide range of concerns.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can really help. For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes - remote therapy has been found to be similarly effective as traditional in-person work.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that fits their life and comfort level - whether through video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging - making it easier to access help without rearranging a busy schedule.
Therapists offering remote services are licensed professionals, and people may switch to a different therapist at any time if they want a different fit. Online work can make it simpler to find and maintain therapeutic support while addressing everyday challenges.
