Kevin Nguyen is an AASW-registered social worker who completed a Master of Social Work at the University of Melbourne. He brings four years of practice working with adults across corrections/forensic, hospital, military and mining settings.
Kevin works collaboratively to create a safe environment where people can explore and share their experiences. He has supported adults presenting with addictions, anger management concerns, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress and life-transition difficulties, and he also assists with career-related concerns.
His therapeutic style is client-centred, strength-based and solutions-focused, grounded in a social work perspective that seeks to understand how life experiences have shaped each person. Kevin believes people have the capacity to change and offers to accompany them as a supportive guide through that process.
Outside of work he enjoys watching sports, spending time with friends and family, caring for his two beloved Staffys and smoking a brisket on the BBQ.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
An important benefit is flexibility - you can connect in the way that suits you best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. That range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to engage in the format that feels most comfortable.
Each therapist offering online services is a licensed professional, and you have the option to switch therapists if you decide a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible, adaptable route to getting support for everyday mental health concerns.
