Dr. Kathryn McCormic is a doctoral-level licensed clinical social worker practicing in Florida. She earned her master’s degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University in 2005 and completed a Doctorate in Social Work in 2023. In addition to her clinical work, she currently teaches at a local university.
Across 17 years of professional practice, Dr. McCormic has worked with people across the lifespan, from very young clients to older adults. Her experience includes supporting individuals facing grief and loss, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse and trauma, addiction, and codependency, among other challenges.
As a relational therapist, she draws on a range of treatment approaches and formal training in EMDR, DBT, and CBT. She commonly uses interventions grounded in Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral therapies, tailoring techniques to each person’s needs. Dr. McCormic believes people have internal strengths to help create change, and she aims to provide the guidance and support clients need to move toward a new vision for their lives.
For many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience show that these common issues often respond well to virtual care when delivered by trained professionals.
One major benefit of online therapy is flexibility. Individuals can connect in the format that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule or to access care from different locations.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists at any time if they feel another fit would be better. Online therapy can provide practical, accessible support for those seeking help with everyday mental health concerns.
