Kandy Alley is a licensed counselor based in Idaho with eight years of clinical experience. She holds an Idaho professional counseling license (LPC-7942) and a Washington mental health counselor credential (LMHC LH61050140), which reflect her training and professional standing.
Her background includes a range of roles in the mental health field - from activities specialist and case management to vocational services coordination, management, and work as a professional licensed counselor. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and with a broad spectrum of mental health concerns.
In the office, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is her primary approach. CBT helps people understand how beliefs and values develop over time and how those patterns can contribute to distorted thinking, making it possible to guide clients back toward healthier perspectives. She has completed multiple CBT seminars through the Beck Institute and integrates techniques from dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, strengths-based work, and motivational interviewing into her practice.
Kandy brings a great deal of empathy to her work with people who have experienced adverse events in childhood or adulthood, and she honors the strengths clients have used to get through difficult times. She aims to create a space where clients feel safe to share their stories, even when doing so becomes emotional.
By helping clients identify personal strengths and building confidence, Kandy supports individuals as they lead the changes they want to make. She provides practical tools and skills to help clients succeed in shifting behaviors and reaching their goals.
