Julia Ellingham is a fully qualified counsellor holding a Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, adhering to their code of ethics.
After a twelve-year career in advertising, she trained to become a counsellor to follow her passion for helping others. She believes everyone deserves to feel happy, valued and respected and has witnessed how counselling can produce meaningful, positive change in people’s lives.
In a fast-paced, often stressful world, Julia sees counselling as a space to talk through struggles and work towards improved wellbeing. She works using a person-centred approach, which recognises that the individual is the expert in their own life and that exploring thoughts and feelings can help make sense of emotions and resolve overwhelming issues.
Julia offers a caring, confidential and non-judgemental environment in which to explore difficulties. Her experience has been largely focused on supporting children and adults with anxiety and depression, matters of identity and culture, and relationship and family problems.
In an initial session she will discuss your needs and what you hope to achieve from therapy, allowing you to decide whether she is the right therapist for you.
