Jerry Guy completed his Master of Counseling at Liberty University in 2014 and began his counseling career working with clients addicted to opiates. That early experience gave him the chance to see the person behind the addiction and assist individuals in finding themselves and hope for a new life.
He has three years of professional experience and is licensed to practice counseling in South Carolina and as a clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina (SC LPC 10111, NC LCMHC 12062). For the past two years he has worked independently, providing therapy to both couples and individuals.
Jerry has worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and addresses a wide range of concerns, including addictions, relationship and family conflicts, intimacy-related and parenting issues, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, depression, coping with life changes, and ADHD. He uses a variety of therapeutic methods and tailors techniques to each client’s needs, offering a supportive and empathetic approach aimed at helping clients reach the outcomes they want.
His goal is to make everyone he meets feel comfortable and safe and to help them understand they are defined by their past and they can still create the life they want.
Many people ask whether counseling over the internet can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is flexibility - clients can meet with their therapist in the format that fits their schedule and comfort level, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to integrate therapy into everyday life.
Licensed professionals provide care remotely, and if someone needs a different therapeutic match they can switch therapists at any time. For many people dealing with routine emotional and relational issues, online therapy offers an accessible and effective option for support and growth.
