Jason Byram is a Georgia-based licensed clinical social worker who brings seven years of professional therapy experience. He works with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, adults, families and groups, and focuses on helping people manage depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem concerns and the challenges that come with life changes.
His clinical experience includes work with mood disorders - particularly bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder - as well as anxiety, anger management, addiction, crisis stabilization, trauma and abuse, grief, relationship and family conflicts, intimacy-related issues, and career difficulties. He has served in a variety of roles, including positions in structured cognitive behavioral therapy programs, medication assisted treatment for substance use, child and adolescent group therapy in private practice, mental health counseling within the Georgia Department of Corrections, mobile crisis response for the Georgia Crisis Access Line, behavioral health care in an intellectual and developmental disability crisis home, and social work support for the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Jason practices from an eclectic cognitive behavioral perspective grounded in humanistic values and social work principles such as self-determination and beneficence. He integrates strengths-based and solution-focused strategies with motivational interviewing and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He also employs practical meditation and relaxation techniques, including guided imagery, body scan meditation, mindfulness practices, and progressive muscle relaxation to support coping and resilience.
Jason earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia and is licensed to practice clinical social work in Georgia. He aims to provide collaborative, practical care and would welcome the opportunity to support people as they navigate the challenges they face.
Many people ask whether virtual therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
Another major benefit is convenience - clients can choose the communication method that fits their life, whether that is video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain regular contact with a therapist and integrate treatment into a busy schedule.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and individuals have the option to change therapists at any time if they need a different fit. Online therapy offers an accessible way to receive consistent, professional support for many everyday mental health concerns.
