Heli Annika Giles is a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor who works mainly from a person-centred approach. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
She welcomes people who are taking the first step towards support and recognises that initial contact can feel difficult; she remembers how it felt for her. Her practice offers a compassionate space to explore what is troubling you without judgment.
Her work covers a range of concerns including stress and anxiety, relationship and family difficulties, self-esteem and perfectionism, coping with life changes, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related issues, parenting, anger, career matters and depression. She also offers coaching and support for compassion fatigue. She can work with general and social anxiety, stress and burnout - including career coaching and work-related issues - and with people wondering why they do not feel like themselves or why relationships feel challenging.
Heli encourages clients to choose what they want to address and to set goals for therapy. Her role is to support that process, to help bring clarity and understanding to complex emotions, and to review progress together. She understands how external pressures such as the cost-of-living crisis can increase stress, shame or loneliness, and she aims to provide practical coping tools as well as greater self-awareness so anxiety and difficult feelings do not dominate everyday life.
