Heather Harris is a Texas-based licensed clinical social worker with 14 years of experience providing therapy. She has spent the past 14 years working specifically with the Veteran population and brings that focused experience to her clinical practice.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX and completed a master’s degree in social work at the University of Denver in 2004. She is licensed to practice as a clinical social worker in Texas.
Heather has extensive experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence and has provided outpatient therapy for diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. In her work she draws on approaches from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients make practical changes.
Her areas of focus include stress, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, coping with life changes, and anger management. She has also supported clients through sexual assault trauma, domestic violence trauma, grief and loss, and moral injury. Heather aims to make the therapy experience genuine, positive, respectful, and safe, and she encourages people to acknowledge the courage it takes to begin therapy.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One of the main benefits is flexibility - you can meet with a therapist in the format that works best for your schedule and comfort level, whether that is a video session, a phone call, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life.
All participating clinicians are licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is needed, you can change therapists at any time. Online therapy offers a practical option for people seeking consistent, evidence-based support from trained therapists without the need for in-person visits.
