Denise Black Winston holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in Professional Counseling and is licensed as a professional counselor in Georgia (GA LPC LPC007833). She is also certified as a National Board-Certified Counselor (NBCC) and as a Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH), reflecting national counselor certification and specialized tele-mental health training.
Prior to becoming an LPC in 2014, she spent more than thirty years working in the child welfare field as a social worker in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Georgia, where she worked extensively with children and their families. Since shifting into professional counseling, she has accumulated nine years of experience as a licensed counselor in Georgia.
Denise has experience supporting people with stress and anxiety, depression, grief, addictions, family conflicts, self-esteem and confidence concerns, and coping with life changes. She collaborates with clients to create an open, safe environment for sharing thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment and works to empower individuals to enhance their emotional wellbeing.
