Deborah Giannasi has practised person-centred counselling since 2007, working predominantly with children, young people and families. Through ongoing continuing professional development she has developed a wide range of skills that enable her to support children in both school and private settings.
She also works with adults using a person-centred approach and has extensive knowledge of bereavement counselling. Deborah provides support for a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, family separation, attachment issues, parenting struggles and self-harm.
Her practice is grounded in Carl Rogers' person-centred model, and when working with children she incorporates experiential play therapy. Deborah is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and follows their code of practice. She completes regular safeguarding training and attends monthly supervision sessions. Deborah is based in the United Kingdom and has 17 years of experience.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For a range of common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges or dealing with life changes - online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility. You can connect with a therapist in the way that feels most convenient, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and if you feel a different fit would be better you can switch therapists at any time.
