Debbie Harris is co-owner of New Creation Counseling Center and continues to provide direct patient therapy. With 25 years of clinical experience, she practices in Oklahoma and is a licensed professional counselor in the state, holding credential OK LPC 4554. Her decision to pursue counseling began in her sophomore year of college after feeling a call to ministry while working for a Christian sports camp.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Counseling from Southwest Baptist University and completed a master’s degree in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy at John Brown University. In 2001 she co-founded New Creation Counseling Center, an agency that has provided therapy to many abused children and their families across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.
Throughout her career she has worked closely with children’s advocacy groups to bring hope, help, and healing to children victimized by abuse. Her background includes extensive work treating trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, and a variety of related disorders. In 2012 she received certification in equine therapy through OK Corral.
In 2021 Debbie began collaborating with a local school system to conduct special needs testing and to provide therapy to students within the schools. She is currently working with many young women who have been victims of sex trafficking and considers her work a continuing ministry of helping people. It is her aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of hurting individuals and families.
Her practice addresses a broad range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, depression, addictions, grief, intimacy-related issues, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, self-esteem and career difficulties, bipolar disorder, ADHD, coping with life changes, coaching, and compassion fatigue.
