Corey Winston has worked in the mental health field since 2007, serving both children and adults in the IDD, MH, and SU populations. He brings a long-standing commitment to helping people access services, make informed choices, pursue personal goals, and participate in their communities with dignity and respect.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Those degrees have shaped his social competence and informed his approach to helping individuals cope with their illnesses.
Over the past 13 years in the mental health field, including five years providing therapy, he has developed a deeper understanding of the people he serves and strives to remain unbiased toward anyone who is ready to seek help.
Corey holds a North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential (NC LCSW c010981), a clinical social work license that authorizes him to provide therapeutic services in North Carolina. He has a strong interest in working with individuals who have mental illness and disabilities and welcomes the opportunity to support people on their journey toward well-being.
Many people find that online therapy can make a meaningful difference for common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes. For most of these issues, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One key benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the format that fits their needs, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability often makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they want a different fit. For many people, the combination of accessibility and professional care makes online therapy a practical option for addressing day-to-day mental health concerns.
