Carolyn Heap has worked with children and families within local authority settings for more than 30 years and has six years of experience providing therapy services. She is passionate about supporting people as they find greater peace, strength and wellbeing in their lives.
She works with adults who are coping with past trauma, major life changes and difficulties in relationships. Carolyn also has experience working with couples as a certified couple counsellor and is currently undertaking training to become a Relational Life Therapist, a therapeutic approach designed to help couples facing separation or divorce.
Carolyn is keen to support greater access to therapy for men and works as a counsellor for the LADZ App. She has worked with couples and families where domestic abuse has been a factor. She believes clients are the experts in their own stories and that everyone brings strengths that can help them overcome lifes challenges. Seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage, and Carolyn aims to support and empower people as they take those first steps toward change.
Many people wonder whether meeting a therapist online can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions for most people.
A major benefit of online work is flexibility - you can meet in the way that suits you best, whether by video call, phone, live chat or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to maintain continuity of care.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if you feel another fit would serve you better you may switch therapists. Online therapy can be a practical and accessible route to addressing everyday mental health concerns while offering multiple ways to connect with a therapist.
