GOAL OF THERAPY For you, the Client to identify what you see as the problem you want to address and what goals you want to accomplish. You decide what type of therapy you feel most comfortable with and together we identify initial goals and strategies to achieve them. Sometimes this can lead to you later on identifying other goals you want to achieve as therapy progresses.
Sometimes you are in crisis mode; sometimes you just need someone who can help you make changes to achieve your goals; sometimes you just need someone to talk to that helps you sort issues out and make good decisions.
Whatever the reason – let’s talk – we can find the way to make you feel good about yourself, your life and your future!

Bonnie Pinto-Swift is a Massachusetts-based therapist with 40 years of clinical experience. She holds a master’s degree and is a licensed independent clinical social worker, LICSW number 1016610, offering decades of practice in helping adults navigate difficult life circumstances.
Over the years she has worked with both younger and older adults across a variety of settings, addressing challenges related to work and peer relationships, major life changes, coping with difficult situations, and supporting adults with psychiatric histories. She also assists adults and elderly individuals who live alone, and helps families make decisions about group care, nursing, or rest home placement. Financial management, establishing personal goals, exploring school and career options, and searching for meaning and purpose are additional areas she addresses in therapy.
Having personally bought and sold houses, Bonnie understands the particular strain that moving, buying, or selling a home can cause. She can support clients through those transitions to reduce stress and anxiety associated with what is commonly listed among major life stressors.
Her goal in therapy is to help each client clearly identify the problem they want to address and the outcomes they hope to achieve. Clients choose the style of therapy that feels most comfortable, and together they set initial goals and practical strategies to reach them. Therapy can begin in crisis, focus on making life changes, or simply provide a space to sort through decisions. As work progresses, new goals often emerge. Bonnie invites people to reach out so they can explore ways to improve wellbeing, strengthen self-regard, and build a more positive outlook for the future.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main advantages is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that suits them best, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety of options makes it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists available for online work are licensed professionals, and clients are free to change therapists at any time if they are seeking a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, effective way to address everyday mental health concerns and life challenges.
