Babak Karimbeik works with people whose lives have been disrupted by severe stressors such as trauma, drug and alcohol addiction, and related challenges. With seven years of clinical experience in California, he supports children, adults, and families affected by addiction as they pursue healing and greater day-to-day functioning.
He helps clients develop healthier perceptions of themselves and their experiences while guiding the repair and strengthening of relationships so those connections can offer reliable support and clearer self-understanding within relational contexts. His approach is individualized, tailoring care to each person’s unique situation and needs.
Babak draws on a wide range of therapeutic modalities - including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Depth Psychology, Cognitive Therapy of Substance Abuse, Existential Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy - and he specializes in EMDR. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and is currently enrolled in a PhD program in Depth Psychology. In previous roles he served as clinical director for six detox and residential treatment facilities - LifeSync Malibu, Rebos Detox, A Giving Tree, Hollywood Recovery Center, New Spirit Recovery, and Phase 2 ATC in Encino - and he was the first to develop the LifeSync Malibu residential addiction program.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One notable benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule and to access care from different locations.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy offers a practical, effective pathway to addressing everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
