Atesha Woods emphasizes attentive listening and empowerment, delivering strength-based, impactful, and supportive services as central elements of the therapeutic process. She combines compassion with a practical focus on helping people build the tools they need to manage current challenges and pursue meaningful growth.
With 20 years of clinical experience, Atesha has spent two decades refining her skills to provide high-quality care to children, youth, couples, and families. She graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in social work and completed a Master of Social Work degree at Springfield College. She also sought an advanced degree in social work at the University of Southern California.
Atesha’s goal is to help each person uncover their potential and create a life worth celebrating. While past difficulties cannot be changed, she works collaboratively with clients to understand and resolve challenges. Using evidence-based therapeutic approaches, she helps identify long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions that may interfere with a more fulfilling life, and she offers a personalized plan tailored to each child, youth, couple, or family.
Her clinical expertise includes bipolar disorders, depressive and anxiety disorders, grief and loss, self-esteem and self-image concerns, social anxiety, anger management, relationship difficulties, work-life balance, and stress reduction. She is also qualified to work with victims of crime (assault, intimate partner violence, sexual assault) to address immediate crisis concerns and issues related to post-traumatic stress. Atesha is licensed in Maryland as a clinical social worker (LCSW-C), license number 21743.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care for most individuals.
A major benefit of online sessions is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best - video calls, phone conversations, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and daily life.
These services are provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients are free to change therapists if they prefer a different fit. For many people, the combination of clinical expertise and flexible access makes online therapy a practical option for getting consistent support.
