Annemarie Colosimo is a Licensed Independent Social Worker practicing in Ohio with 20 years of clinical experience. She holds a Master’s Degree of Science in Social Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, and she also maintains a supervisory designation that supports her work with other professionals.
Her approach centers on collaboration: she partners with each client to create a treatment plan tailored to the areas they want to address. She builds a trusting therapeutic relationship, draws on the client’s existing strengths, and offers guidance to bolster motivation as clients work toward their goals.
Annemarie integrates techniques from several evidence-informed modalities, including solution-focused approaches, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing, selecting strategies that best fit each person’s needs.
Her practice spans a wide range of concerns and populations, including stress, anxiety, grief, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, family conflicts, self-esteem issues, and bipolar disorder. She has worked with people from their teenage years through older adulthood, in both individual and group settings, and much of her career has focused on grief, traumatic loss, bereavement, adjustment, and caregiver stress.
Outside of her professional life she enjoys time with her husband and their two dogs, playing pickleball, attending major league baseball games, and traveling.
Reaching out for support can feel difficult, and Annemarie encourages taking that first step. She values being heard, reflection, and carving out time for personal growth, and she believes that, with support, things can improve.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most individuals.
One of the primary benefits is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that works best for them, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to maintain consistent care.
Therapists who offer online services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to request a different therapist if they feel another fit would be better. For many people, remote counseling provides a practical and effective path to addressing everyday mental health concerns and life transitions.
