Dr. Angela Roberts is a licensed professional counselor practicing in Virginia with 28 years of clinical experience.
She earned a Doctor of Education degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Radford University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Hampton University.
She is licensed to practice as a professional counselor in Virginia. She is a Certified Crisis Responder and a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Her research examined the prevalence of PTSD symptoms among Public Safety Professionals in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dr. Roberts is compassionate about guiding others toward mental wellness and spiritual growth, and she often cites the anonymous saying: “If you are more fortunate than others, build a longer table and not a taller fence.”
Her clinical interests include mind-body approaches, culture and identity development, family dynamics, mood disorders, life transitions, crisis intervention, and trauma and abuse. She specializes in stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, depression, relationship issues, family conflicts, anger management, self esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue.
For many common concerns - such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes - online therapy has been shown to offer results comparable to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that fits their routines and comfort level: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging, making it simpler to incorporate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide care online, and if someone decides they would prefer a different match, they may switch therapists at any time. Online therapy can be a practical option for addressing everyday mental health needs while maintaining a professional therapeutic relationship.
